MustyYew is a self-taught image editor, graphic designer, memelord, amatuer smugman, and digital artist based in the Unlimited Kool (UK). This website serves to be a catalogue for his wide array of online creative works, as well as a general hub for other places you can find such.
I have no idea what else to put in this section uuhhhhhhhh blueberry muffins are tasty
Preferably shortened as 'Musty' or 'Mustyy' (yes I know it follows the 'Adjective Noun' format but just roll with it okay), "MustyYew" originated as a randomly-generated username that one of my siblings had for their XBOX account. I thought the name sounded pretty cool so I sorta just stole the alias as the name for my first YouTube channel — and soon enough, my online identity as a whole. The place I grew up in also had a bunch of Yew trees planted around local areas, which was a pretty cool coincidence that further added to my attatchment to the name.
Although I've created my own characters that I enjoy drawing from time to time, a large chunk of my artistic discography is just fan art of pre-existing characters I find interesting (this is a very subtle reference to the fact that I am complete doggy doodoo water at coming up with my own OCs). Otherwise a lot of other things I enjoy doodling to blow out artistic steam just include shapes, objects, facial expressions, logo designs, letter formations and other random stuff in that regard.
A lot of my mainline stuff is created through the very high-tech & professional art software of Microsoft Paint (Windows 10 edition), with an optical computer mouse. The brush I mainly like to use is the default square eraser tool; I'm a pretty big fan of styles that appear very "compact" and simplistic in shape, which can really be enhanced by a brush like that.
Other software I frequently draw with include paint.net and MediBang Paint Pro (the former typically used for linework & after-adjustments if needed), as well as Microsoft PowerPoint for more graphic-design-esque stuff.
As I've had an interest in drawing for practically my entire life, a lot of stylistic inspiration just draws from media I grew up with (TV shows, web series, adverts, books, games etc). I couldn't point out one particular property that single-handedly influenced my artistic approch, since for the most part I just take bits and pieces from other styles I find cool and almalgamate them into my own thing. I didn't watch a lot of tutorials to learn the fundementls of art either, nor did I take any real academic classes.
Well, lucky for you pal, I've assorted a giant portfolio on this very site with all the work I've posted online! You can take a look by clicking the button below. Elseways, you can basically find bits and pieces of my work on any image-sharing platform I publicly have (which you can view on my Linktree).
Not really. As of now at least. I'm open for basic art requests as I've already done a lot in the past (including one that was made in exchange for Robux), but as far as real paid commissions go my experience is very limited. I can kind of see myself opening commissions in the future, but don't quote me on that.
